We sure do! Redspot offers one-way car hires (also known as vehicle relocations) from our Brisbane International Airport car hire counter. Wherever you want to wrap up your adventures in Australia’s sunshine state, we’re happy to accommodate!
Is a rental car covered in travel insurance?
Rental car excess cover can be covered with travel insurance, depending on what type of coverage you choose. However, if an accident does occur then you are still liable for a damage liability with the car rental company. Once charged, in most cases you can claim that ‘excess charge’ back to your travel insurer for reimbursement. Certain limitations and restrictions do apply, so check your cover options.

How much does it cost to rent a car from Brisbane Airport?

How to return a rental car at Brisbane Airport?
Returning your rental car to Brisbane Airport? Wrap up your adventures by taking the Airport exit from the highway. Follow the signs to either the International Airport or Domestic Airport, the when closer follow the approriate signs to the car rental car park where the boom gates will open automatically at the entrance.
Park your vehicle in a designated parking bay, then head to the Redspot car rental office (Level 2 Arrivals Hall) to return your car keys. That’s it!
What happens if the car rental place is closed at the airport?
For after-hours returns, follow the road under the Arrivals ramp, turn left into the rental car area and park your vehicle. Then head to the Redspot counter on Level 2 Arrivals Hall, Brisbane International Airport. Leave your keys in the secure drop box (available 24/7) and you’re done!

What are the Redspot Brisbane International Airport opening hours?
We’re open everyday, rain or shine: Mondays to Fridays from 6am to 11pm, and Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 7am to 11pm!

Where can we find Redspot in Brisbane International Airport?
Find our friendly Brisbane International Airport team at Level 2 Arrivals Hall, 32 Airport Drive! An easy walking distance from the International terminal, so you can easily collect your hire car when you land.
What do you need to hire a car in QLD?
We’ll always try to see you off as quickly as we can from our Brisbane International Airport counter, but we do need to review some documents before sending you on your way.
Here’s what you’ll need to bring when picking up your Redspot hire car:
- Credit/debit card in renter’s name and/or purchase order or prepaid voucher
- Valid driver’s licence/s for yourself and any additional drivers. If your licence is not in English, please include a translation provided by your embassy or home country traffic authority.
- Driver’s licence doesn’t display your current home address? (Don’t worry, we’ve all been there!) In this case, you’ll also need to supply ID with this information, like a utility bill.
- Your passport (if you’re an overseas visitor)
Do I need a credit card to rent a car with Redspot?
Bring a valid credit OR Visa/MasterCard debit card in the renter’s name and you’re all revved up to hire a Redspot rental! Otherwise, you’ll just need a valid driver’s licence for any drivers planning to take the wheel.
International visitors will also need to present their passport and an English translation if necessary.
Can I rent a car with a debit card in Australia?
Yes, you can rent a car with a Visa/MasterCard debit card when booking with Redspot! We’re one of the few Aussie companies that offers debit card payments, so you can hit the road quicker and easier than ever before.
Do you have to clean your rental car?
At Redspot, we clean your hire car after every rental so you don’t have to! Simply return your rental car to the way you found it – remember to throw any rubbish and take your belongings with you.
We vacuum and clean all Redspot car interiors including seats, floors, dashboard, steering wheel and internal windows. Car exteriors aren’t forgotten either – we wash and dry them so your rental car sparkles like a million bucks.
On the off-chance your rental car requires intensive cleaning (beyond the service mentioned above) or steam cleaning, we may need to charge a cleaning fee. Speak to our staff for more info!
Do rental cars have a km limit?
Nope! All rental cars hired from our Brisbane International Airport branch have no kilometre (km) restrictions. Wander to your heart’s content!
Renting a van, truck or ute? Commercial vehicles may have kilometre restrictions, so check your driving journey to make sure you’re covered before hitting the road.
What is the oldest age to rent a car?
With Redspot, age is just a number! Having said that, we do require you to be over 21 to rent a car from us for safety reasons.
What is the youngest age to drive a rental car?
You can rent a car with Redspot once you turn 21! We’re one of the few Aussie car rental companies that welcome young drivers to gear up with us.
Please note that drivers under the age of 25 are required to pay a surcharge and can only rent from our range of small to medium-sized sedans and hatchbacks. Once you hit 25, you’ll have full access to our entire fleet range.

Can P Platers hire cars in QLD?
You sure can! Redspot is one of few Aussie companies that give the green light for local P-platers over 21 to rent a car in QLD (Queensland).
Keeping you safe is our top priority, so we have a few safety rules that are designed to make sure you get from Point A to Point B without a hitch.
If you’re a P-plater, you must:
- Have held your driver’s licence for a minimum of 1 year.
- Have a driver’s licence that is valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date of rental collection.
When you rent a car, remember to factor in the daily surcharge. This surcharge applies to all drivers holding an Australian provisional driver’s licence. Keep in mind that P-platers can also reduce damage cover to a maximum of $330.
Aged between 21 and 25? You have access to our range of small to medium-sized sedans and hatchbacks. Provisional drivers over the age of 25 can enjoy renting any vehicle available from our entire fleet.
Can I rent a car with an international driver’s license in Australia?
Yes! International visitors can absolutely show their valid overseas driver’s licence and passport to rent vehicles from Redspot.
If you’re loving your time here and stay in Australia for longer than 3 months, you’ll need to transition to a local driver’s licence. This depends on the state or territory you’re travelling in, so check in with our friendly team for local advice.

If you are booking a one-way car hire (e.g. picking your car up in Sydney and dropping it off in Brisbane), this is where ‘drop fees’ are involved. This is a relocation fee that varies depending on the distance from Point A to Point B, and if there are any complications in getting the car back.
Drop fees are included in the total price when you get a rental car quote on our website. Fully transparent, so you know exactly what’s involved for your budget from Day 1!
Can I get a specific colour for my car rental?
Want to hit the town in a specific car colour? Contact our friendly Brisbane International Airport team to check whether your ideal shade is up for grabs. While we can’t guarantee availability, we’ll do our best to get your ride looking fresh for the road!
How far in advance should you hire a car?
Looking to hire a car during peak season? Prices are generally higher during busy travel periods such as Christmas, so it’s best to secure your car rental between 4-6 months in advance.
This is crucial if you’re travelling with a large group and/or require a specific car make or model. Sort out your car rental early and enjoy peace of mind as you zoom off on your adventures ASAP!
How close to full does rental car need to be?
No need to worry, your rental car will be full of fuel when you pick it up! When it comes to returning it, it’s up to you if you want to refuel or not! Here are your options:
- You can prepay for a full tank at a discounted rate at the start of your rental period. This will save you the hassle of filling it up later, just note that there’s no refund for unused fuel.
Only get charged for the fuel you use. This will be at a higher rate than above.
What is a mystery car rental?
A mystery car rental is for all our surprise-loving, deal-chasing friends! At Redspot, we offer a vehicle determined upon pick-up for you at a discounted rate. You’ll know the basics like how many people it seats, if it’s automatic or manual and the lot. But the rest is up to us! Because we all need more adventure in our lives.
Can I return my rental car early?
Yes, absolutely! Keep in mind that there are no refunds for early returns on voucher payments – unless you’ve booked through our All-Inclusive rate!
Can more than one person drive a hire car?
Sure thing! Simply include their details in the rental car agreement before driving. Additional drivers will also need to present their valid driver’s licence during vehicle pick-up, then you’re all good to go!
Does it cost more to have more than one driver?
Not if you’re renting on our All-Inclusive Rates! Note that a surcharge could apply on certain rates, and if the additional driver is under 25 in line with our policies.
Are there any toll roads in QLD?
Yes, there are many toll roads in Queensland. To help you manage, we offer a toll road waiver for a small daily fee.
What if my car breaks down?
Unfortunately, breakdowns can occur in vehicles of all types and get in the way of your road trip, business travel or errand run.
