How to get from T3 to T4 Perth Airport?

Perth Airport T3 and T4 terminals are located in the same building complex, a short walk away from each other. Hop from your flight to the road in a flash with Redspot’s T3/T4 branch, located in the T4 terminal (Qantas) right next to baggage claim for ultimate convenience. 

If you arrive in T3, no worries! It’s a quick 5-minute walk to T4, where you’ll find our counter alongside all other car rental desks. 

Once you complete paperwork and collect your keys at our T4 counter, head to the car rental car park to pick up your Redspot ride. This is a 5-minute walk away, close to T3. Now buckle up, you’re ready for a Perth road trip of a lifetime!

Is Terminal 3 Perth domestic or international?

Perth Airport Terminal 3 (T3) operates both domestic and international flights. To make sure you land in the right place, please check your flight details to confirm exactly which terminal you will depart from!

Perth Airport runs two international terminals (T1 and T3) and four domestic terminals (T1, T2, T3 and T4), plus a General Aviation precinct. Terminals 1 and 2 are located in the same precinct, while Terminals 3, 4 and General Aviation are in the other. 

It takes a 10-minute drive between T1/T2 and T3/T4. For seamless transfers, a terminal bus is available every 20 minutes from 6 am – 10 pm, and every 30 minutes from 10 pm – 6 am.

Redspot makes things simple with car rental branches from Perth Airport T3/T4 and T1/T2. For our T3/T4 customers, drop by our T3/T4 terminal car rental desk and car park. We also have individual car rental car parks at T1/T2 (including a car park booth) in addition to our T1/T2 terminal car rental desk.

What terminal does Jetstar use in Perth?

All Jetstar domestic services operate from Terminal 2 (T2 Domestic) in Perth. 

Jetstar international services operate from Terminal 1 (T1 International).

What does in terminal mean for rental cars?

‘In terminal’ means that the car rental area is located inside the airport terminal or in a nearby area, within close walking distance.

How much is a car rental per day in Perth?

Depends on your plans! Your car rental rate will depend on factors such as:

  • Type of car
  • Rental duration
  • Insurance options
  • Any additional fees (moving equipment hire, vehicle relocation fees etc.)

Do rental cars have a km limit?

For maximum freedom, there are no kilometre (km) limitations for standard passenger and leisure Redspot vehicles around Australia! However, if you rent a van, truck or ute for commercial purposes, please note that your contract may have kilometre restrictions involved. 

Remote Redspot locations, such as Alice Springs or Darwin, also have km restrictions on all vehicles. For more info, please contact our friendly Redspot team on 1300 668 810 (toll-free) to find the best fit for your adventures.

What documents do I need to hire a car in Australia?

To hire a car in Australia from any Redspot branch, you will need:

  • A valid credit card, debit card or purchase order/prepaid voucher.
  • A valid driver’s licence and the licence of any other drivers using the car. Licence not in English? You will also need an official translation, as provided by your embassy or home nation’s traffic authority. 
  • Does your licence show your current address? If not, you will need to provide documented proof of address, such as a utility bill. 
  • If you are not an Australian citizen, you must also provide your passport. Certain digital licences or passports are not accepted as valid documents.* 

*Digital licences or passports are accepted from the USA, Singapore, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Can I rent a car with an international driver's license in Australia?

Yes! International visitors are welcome to use their valid overseas driver’s licence and passport to rent vehicles from Redspot. Please note that certain digital licences or passports are not accepted as valid documents.* 

Staying in Australia for longer than 3 months? In this case, you’ll need to transition to a local driver’s licence. This depends on the state or territory you’re travelling in, so please check in with our friendly team for local advice. 

If your licence is not in English, we’ll also need a translated version. You can get this from your country’s embassy or traffic authority in your home country. For more information, see our complete guide to renting a vehicle with an overseas licence.

Can P Platers hire cars?

You sure can! We’re one of the few Aussie companies that give the green light for local P-platers over 21 to rent a car. 

Keeping you safe is our top priority, so we have a few safety rules that are designed to make sure you get from Point A to Point B without a hitch. 

If you are a P-plater, you must:

  • Hold a Provisional P2 licence (green Ps).
  • Hold a driver’s licence that is valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date of rental collection.

When you rent a car, remember to factor in the daily surcharge. This surcharge applies to all drivers holding an Australian provisional driver’s licence. Keep in mind that P-platers can also reduce damage cover to a maximum of $330. 

Aged between 21 and 25? You have access to our range of small to medium-sized sedans and hatchbacks. Provisional drivers over the age of 25 can enjoy renting any vehicle available from our entire fleet.

What is the minimum age to rent a car in Perth?

For most Aussie car rental companies, the minimum age is 25. However, with Redspot, we don’t think age should keep you from getting out there! Drivers from 21 years old are welcome to rent with us.

Please be advised that there will be a few restrictions for young drivers. Hired cars available will be CDAR, ECAR and IDAR class vehicles. Provisional P2 licence holders can reduce damage cover up to $330, and there will be a small daily surcharge. Check our Young Drivers guide for all the details to shift your plans into gear today.

What is the oldest age to drive a rental car?

None! At Redspot, we say that age is just a number. That’s why we welcome anyone over 21 years old to rent with us. For those young at heart, jump behind the wheel and get ready to explore all the beauty Australia has to offer!

Can more than one person drive a hire car?

Yes, more than one person can hit the road with a hire car! Just make sure any drivers present their valid driver’s licence at vehicle pick-up and you’ll be ready to roam. Usual T&Cs apply. 

Please note that an additional driver’s fee may apply – unless you book our All-Inclusive package!

Is it better to prepay for a rental car?

Generally speaking, yes! Prepaying for your rental car means you are more likely to snap up the best hire rate for your plans. You also have a much better chance of securing the type of vehicle you want. 

If you plan on travelling during holiday seasons like Christmas or New Year, prepaying is the best way to ensure your journey can go off without a hitch.

Do rental cars have cameras?

Yes, some rental cars may have a dashcam or rearview camera installed for safety reasons. Here at Redspot, we value full transparency. That’s why we’ll be sure to tell you whether your vehicle is equipped with either camera in the rental agreement. 

You can drive assured that none of our cars have any internal cameras installed in your rental vehicle. Your privacy is important to us, so we ensure that you can hit the road with 100% peace of mind.

Can I vape or smoke in a rental car?

Most Aussie rental cars run a smoke-free fleet, including Redspot! Vaping and smoking are best done outside and away from your rental car. This helps you avoid any extra cleaning fees you may be charged if your car rental smells like vape/smoke upon returning it.

Do Redspot cars have sat nav or GPS?

Unfortunately, Redspot cars do not come with GPS or satellite navigation (sat nav) systems. If you need navigational help though, never fear! 

Most Redspot cars are equipped with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, which allows hands-free navigation. This helps keep you safe while driving – we don’t recommend using your mobile phone for navigation otherwise. 

Bring along a USB or USB-C connector to use the location services available in-car facilities. We do not provide mobile phone connectors, so it’s best to come prepared in case you’d like to make full use of these services.

Do rental cars track your speed?

No, Redspot rental cars do not track your speed or monitor general activity in our vehicles to respect your privacy. That said, take it easy on the pedal! 

If you get a speeding ticket or a fine in one of our cars, we won’t be able to pay the fee ourselves. In this case, we will email the bill to you and charge a $55 admin fee. Ultimately, it’s easier to drive within the speed limit and adhere to local road rules to make your journey as hassle-free as possible.

Can I return my hire car early?

Yes, you are welcome to return your vehicle early if plans change. Keep in mind that there is no refund for early returns or voucher payments – unless you’ve booked through our All-Inclusive rate!

Do I need to refuel my rental car before I drop it off?

When it comes to refilling your Redspot rental car, we’re here to offer fuel options:

  • Prepay for your vehicle’s full tank at the start of your rental. You’ll pay a discounted rate, and you won’t need to worry about refilling the vehicle before returning it. Please note that there is no refund for unused fuel.
  • We can refill the vehicle for you and charge you for the fuel you’ve used. If you choose this option, you’ll pay a higher rate than the prepay option.  

You can refuel your rental vehicle before returning it. Please fill up the vehicle right before returning to avoid extra charges.

If I purchase a full fuel tank, do I get a refund for any fuel remaining in the tank on return?

No, you will not be refunded for any fuel left in your hire car after you wrap up your road adventures. Alternatively, you can choose to only get charged for the fuel you’ve used (note this comes at a higher rate than prepayment). You can also refuel your rental vehicle before returning it to avoid extra refuelling charges.

Oh no! I just filled up my unleaded car with diesel, what do I do?

If you have filled your rental car with the wrong fuel, don’t panic! Pause, take a breath and follow these simple steps:

  • Safely stop your vehicle ASAP and turn off the engine
  • Call Redspot’s 24/7 roadside assistance for a tow to the nearest workshop 
  • Wait for assistance and don’t start the engine again 

Diesel petrol in an unleaded car can cause serious engine damage, so it’s best to get professional assistance as soon as you can. 

Hot tip: Always double-check the fuel type displayed in the fuel tank opening of your car rental! This is located either on the fuel cap OR lid flap. Still unsure? Your hire car fuel type is also listed on the vehicle’s key tag.

Do you install baby seats for us?

No, unfortunately, for liability reasons we are not able to install baby seats in your hire car. 

Safety is our Number 1 priority at Redspot. We voluntarily comply with Australian state laws and safety policies and therefore cannot install child seats for customers. However, we do offer detailed instructions on how to install a baby seat as safely and securely as possible during vehicle pick-up.

Unfortunately, breakdowns can occur in vehicles of all types and get in the way of your road trip, business travel or errands around town. That’s why we offer 24-hour roadside assistance for all our vehicles.
